Support Katherine as she hits the dance floor to help aid domestic violence victims.

Katherine Maslen, our CEO and founder here at Brisbane Natural Health has been nominated to take part in Dancing CEOs 2017! At this prestigious event Katherine will join 9 other CEOs to hit the stage to raise money for the Women’s Legal Service. On May 5th 2017 Katherine will be frocking up and performing a dance routine on stage at Brisbane’s City Hall.

The Women’s Legal Service provides much needed support to vulnerable women, such as those who are undergoing Domestic Violence and need to separate from their partners for theirs and their children’s safety.

Women’s Legal Service is committed to the creation of a society in which every woman:

  • Is safe from violence
  • Is able to tell her story, have it heard and respected
  • Receives a fair and just outcome from legal and social welfare systems.

Women’s Legal Service experiences a high level of demand – in the last year, they provided assistance to over 3,000 Queensland women. The work of Women’s Legal Service is made possible by over 100 volunteer lawyers, support workers and pro bono counsel, as well as other volunteers. Dancing CEOs is the biggest fundraising initiative of the Women’s Legal Service injecting $219,000 of much needed funds into the service 2016.

One of last years entrants, Clarissa Rayward from the Brisbane Family Law Centre.

Katherine is getting ready to pull out the stops to support this vital service and entertain us at the same time. Here’s what she has to say about it:

“Although I’m daunted by the thought of having to dance in front of hundreds of people, I’m proud to be able to support the great work of the Women’s Legal Service.  I grew up in a home with domestic violence – my father was quite abusive and myself and my siblings were exposed to violence from a young age. The women who are in these situations are often desperate and despondent as to what to do next to get out the situation. The advice from the WLS is vital to help these women take the next steps to put themselves and their children in a safe environment.

So I’ll be donning my dance shoes, frocking up and conquering my fears to hopefully give everyone a great performance while raising money for this worthy cause!”
