Candice is a knowledgeable and holistic based Acupunturist that has been practicing since 2006. She holds both a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture), and a Diploma of Applied Science (Nursing). Being an acupuncturist and a Registered Nurse enables her to understand health from the viewpoint of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. Since becoming a Chinese Medicine Practitioner she has obtained further experience and qualifications in Auricular (ear) Acupuncture, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and Acutonics (Vibrational Tuning Fork Therapy).
Traditional Chinese Medicine offers a range of commonly used modalities to harmonise the bodies meridians including needling, cupping, heat (moxa), tui na massage, elctroacupunture (a small electrical current on acupuncture points – especially useful for pain), acupressure, herbs and lifestyle advice. Candice also activates the meridians with more unusual non -needle methods on the acupuncture points. These include magnets, essential oils, tapping and vibration with tuning forks (Acutonics). Acutonics sends vibration and healing sound through the meridians, and it is a particularly calming and gentle therapy for all types of emotional and physical issues.

She has a special interest in healthy ageing with facial rejuvenation and physical health.
The initial treatment includes a consultation to review your overall health, and the discussion of a treatment plan to give the best possible outcome. Much emphasis in these sessions is put on self help. Home treatments are encouraged through teaching a range of techniques including the use of dermal needles (tiny stick on needles that barely pierce the skin), tapping on the acupuncture points for emotional calmness (also called Emotional Freedom Technique – EFT) and self massage. The aim of these take home treatments is to teach clients to manage their own health and quicken the healing process.
Traditional Chinese Medicine also blends wonderfully with other therapies and is a core part of our natural health memberships here at Shift Brisbane.
